Mystic Dream: Pure Joy Total Freedom

Sylvia Love Johnson Writer:Director

When Love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep,
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden amongst his pinions
May wound you….

Kahlil Gibran

I have never followed love, I have been content with fantasizing about what it is, creating a form of love in my head which is perfect, never hurts, never makes you cry, its convenient and divine, made in heaven. Without risks or fear. Love has knocked on my door on counted occasions throughout my life. I confess now that I have stood still, unmoved, looking through key hole. At a time a thought I might give it a good go, a real go, but always securing the door chain, letting love just glare at me from a distance, I would smile at him insecure, uncertain.

At some point love demanded to fulfill itself, yet in my heart it wasn’t welcome.
Pretense and denial where my allies and my shield.

I know for a fact that I’m not the only who is afraid of love; leaving my heart out in the open trusting someone else with it. Knowing that it will bleed, sooner of later not matter what, it will hurt, because that is what love is.  Pain without cure, It seem i the only remedy is not to drink of it.

Do I do myself good by guarding against love?

Let us consider this: Can a tree grow perfectly without the pruning. Can a flower grow strong from the seed  to bloom without facing all season’s whims? Can iron be sharpen without iron? Can a child be born without a mother giving birth to him.

God chose that Love be the most important, God chose for love to be all we are here for.
I confess I have always been afraid of love; to the point of living a life of deception, convincing myself that I was totally open to love just not lucky enough.

I have not followed love, but offered him a cautious smile. I have not yield to love but turned my back to him. pretending he wasn’t there. The prospects of hard ways and being wounded by its sword, do not appeal to me. Yet as time goes by I feel the outmost need to experience life as God intends; the pure joy and freedom that are to be found in love and more wonders and mysteries, divinity, that joy and freedom I have glimpsed during seconds of lucidity that have counted as eternity.
I know I’m not the only one. I know the world would be heaven if we were all fully committed to love, therefore I invite you to join me in this new commitment to truly give love a chance to fulfill itself in our hearts. Because when we love, we are in the heart of God.
